Mental Health & Psychology
May is National Mental Health Awareness Month. Mental health issues are common in the best of times, and now during the COVID-19 outbreak, worry, sheltering at home, and social distancing can easily exacerbate these challenges. We must be diligent to take time for self-care as well as being mindful of those most at risk of compounding their pre-existing mental health problems. Here are some recommendations on books that shed light on various facets of our emotional inner lives. They are written by mental health experts or are first-hand narratives, stories of recovery, self-help, and self-care advice. Most of all, these books can nourish compassion and understanding for yourself and others.
