Paper Less is the new gallery exhibit of the artwork of Bob Hartzell. The show will be up through Sunday, Jan 8.

Opening Reception is 7 pm Thurs, Oct 13.

Bob Hartzell was raised in a string of small Northern Missouri towns, his family following his administrator father from one small school system in need of his father’s help to another. His early undergrad years were spent in Kirksville MO working menial food service jobs, and from time to time studying printmaking at Truman State University. In the late 80's Bob moved to Chicago and spent years working as a struggling artist making prints, light sculptures and music posters, eventually finishing his BFA at The School Of The Art Institute Of Chicago and starting his Graduate studies at Columbia College Book and Paper program before returning to Missouri to finish his MFA in Fibers / Printmaking at MU.

While at MU he renewed the serigraphy program and taught several students who have gone on to start several small independent printing programs throughout the town. While in Columbia, Bob was an active community volunteer working with the Blue Bird Arts and Music Festival, True/False Film Festival, Access Arts, The Craft Studio, Columbia Art League, Care Gallery, Orr Street Studios and the Missouri Theatre, to name a few.

Bob now lives in St. Louis and has become very active in the local art community. A proud graduate of the Regional Art Council’s Community Art Training program he also recently organized the “Lights along the Cherokee” project that corresponded with the SGC International convention in March 2011. Bob has also been active with Art Saint Louis, Artica, CAMP, Rock and Roll Craft Show, Medusa’s Craft Menagerie, Schlafly Art Outside, and can be contacted through his website www.bobhartzell.com or through his fan site on Facebook for Augratin Press.
